NEW YORK The Hyperfactory, a mobile media and executions company, has hired Liz Jones as vp, entertainment and media.
Jones will lead the division’s efforts in creating mobile strategies and campaigns for film and television studios, record labels, video game developers and media company networks as they seek to produce more content for the mobile medium. The eight-year-old Hyperfactory launched its entertainment division last fall.
On the job for two weeks, Los Angeles-based Jones said her first order of business is to build awareness around the Hyperfactory name within the entertainment community. “I think we have done a lot of work with brands and agencies that have not really focused in this area, so it’s really an untapped market for us,” she said. “I want to go and show them what is possible out there, how you can create buzz and generate huge awareness within this teeny little medium.”
Previously, she was a consultant, working with media agencies and interactive shops. Prior to that, Jones spent 10 years at Twentieth Century Fox as vp of digital marketing, developing online and mobile campaigns for more than 100 films. Jones said she would first look to leverage the relationships she made during her tenure there.
“The entertainment industry is ripe with opportunity for our unique style of innovative and compelling mobile programs, and Liz brings the experience, the knowledge and the relationships to help raise our profile in this space,” said CEO Derek Handley, to whom she reports.
