Riney Cut From Jiffy Lube Review

DALLAS—Publicis & Hal Riney, San Francisco, was one of two shops trimmed last week from the group vying for Jiffy Lube’s $18 million account. The chain, which specializes in oil and lubricant service for cars, is expected to name either FCB, New York, or McCarthy Mambro Bertino, Boston, as the winner this week. Tracy-Locke Partnership, Dallas, was also cut during the semifinals. Incumbent The Richards Group, Dallas, did not participate.

Amazon.com to Hear Final Presentations

CHICAGO—Amazon.com is set to hear presentations for its $35 million global advertising account this week, sources said. A decision is due shortly thereafter. Wieden + Kennedy in Portland, Ore., and Leo Burnett in Chicago are the finalists.

White Wave Selects Arnold

BOSTON—Arnold has been retained by White Wave, marketer of Silk brand soy milk, nondairy creamer and related products. The client, based in Boulder, Colo., selected the Boston shop without a formal review. Carmichael Lynch, Minneapolis, previously worked on the account, which has an estimated seven-figure budget.

Silversea Cruises Considers 7

ATLANTA—Luxury cruise line Silversea Cruises is looking for an agency to handle creative assignments. The operation, headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., has retained Select Resources International in Los Angeles to conduct a review for a onetime print campaign. Sources confirmed that Ground Zero and DiMassimo Brand Advertising in New York and Miami’s Crispin Porter + Bogusky are among seven shops competing. In a communication to one agency not in the review, SRI consultant Mike Agate confirmed that the client is interested in a small boutique “where it can work with creative principals only.” All collateral, interactive and media planning will continue to be handled in-house.

Williams-Sonoma Turns to Digitas

BOSTON—Williams-Sonoma has selected Digitas to handle interactive marketing for its Williams-Sonoma, Pottery Barn and Pottery Barn Kids brands. Spending is believed to be around $10 million. Digitas’ San Francisco office is assigned to launch online wedding and gift registries for the crosstown client, beginning with Pottery Barn, and redesign the Williams-Sonoma and Pottery Barn e-commerce sites for fall relaunches. Bankrupt i-shop marchFirst had worked on the account.

Timberland Boots Martin

BOSTON—Timberland has dismissed The Martin Agency after four years and retained Select Resources International in Los Angeles to help find a new agency. The footwear and apparel brand, based in Stratham, N.H., terminated Martin, an Interpublic Group shop, to seek an agency with broader global reach, Timberland spokeswoman Robin Matchett said. SRI is screening agencies, but declined to name likely contenders. A decision is expected in August. Allscope Media, New York, retains media chores.
