AT&T Wireless Expects to Make Cut This Week

NEW YORK—AT&T Wireless is expected to make a cut this week to three agency finalists in its $400 million review, sources said. Representatives from six shops attended credentials meetings last week at AT&T’s Basking Ridge, N.J., headquarters. Vying for the account are Fallon Minneapolis, Leo Burnett in Chicago, Ogilvy & Mather, FCB and Saatchi & Saatchi, all New York, and TBWA\Chiat\Day in Playa del Rey, Calif. The client is said to be looking for a shop that can handle “heavy retail,” a source said.
