Trumpet Lands Venture Health Partnership

ATLANTA—Trumpet Advertising has been named lead agency for Venture Health Partnership Group’s $15 million account. The shop, located in New Orleans, won the Louisiana and Alabama portions of the HMO holding company’s advertising account last year. The agency’s successes in marketing those brands led the privately held Boston company to contract Trumpet to market new acquisitions and develop a national image campaign. Over the next two years, the 16-month-old Venture Health Partnership Group plans to acquire and administer a dozen other HMOs across the nation. There was no incumbent agency.

Marriner Marketing Talks (Carolina) Turkey

ATLANTA—Carolina Turkey, operator of one of the world’s largest turkey processing plants, has selected Marriner Marketing Communications as its lead advertising agency. The Mount Olive, N.C., client is among the nation’s leading suppliers of turkeys—some 20 million birds annually—to the food-service and retail industries. Billings on the account have been estimated at$14 million. MMC is located in Columbia, Md.

WestWayne Taps Marzonie for Toyota Biz

ATLANTA—WestWayne has hired Timothy Marzonie as account director on its $70 million Southeast ToyotaDistributors account. Marzonie joins the Atlanta-based agency from FCB Worldwide in Detroit, where he directed brand marketing efforts for Jeep and DaimlerChrysler. Southeast Toyota Distributors, headquartered in Deerfield Beach, Fla., distributes the maker’s automobiles to more than 160 dealerships in Florida, Georgia, Alabama and the Carolinas.

Martin Moves Interactive Unit to New York

ATLANTA—The Martin Agency is moving Martin Interactive, established in 1994, to New York. The Richmond, Va., advertising agency, which was battered by a host of dot-com duds in 2000, has also hired e-commerce veterans Mitchell Caplan, Michael Lanzi and Charles Pinkerton to bolster the interactive unit’s operations. Caplan, Lanzi and Pinkerton, formerly with answerthink, come aboard as president, director of account management and director of interactive media and marketing, respectively.

Fletcher Martin Ewing Bows Cellular South Ads

ATLANTA—Fletcher Martin Ewing has introduced its new advertising campaign for Cellular South. The Atlanta shop’s efforts for the Jackson, Miss.-based provider of wireless telecom service include television, radio and retail work. Dylan McDermott, star of ABC’s The Practice, is the Cellular South spokesman. Media buys have been estimated at $5-10 million.

Spirit Cruises Appoints Hambright, Calcagno

ATLANTA—Hambright, Calcagno & Downing Advertising & Public Relations has sailed off with the $2-3 million marketing account of Spirit Cruises. The assignment will involve media buying, print and broadcast advertising and public relations for the Norfolk, Va.-based client. The agency is located in Virginia Beach, Va.
