Toth Fashions Ads for Reunion
BOSTON–Toth Design & Advertising in Concord, Mass., has been tapped to create a print campaign for Seattle Pacific Industries’ fall Reunion collection of men’s suits and casual clothing. Creative revolves around a high school reunion of the class of ’88, said agency president and creative director Michael Toth. The Seattle-based client had handled the assignment in-house. Ads will break in the August issues of GQ, Maxim, POV, Men’s Health and Rolling Stone. Media buying is handled in-house.
State to Educate Consumers on Deregulation
BOSTON–The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Office of Consumer Affairs plans to launch a $2 million campaign this spring to inform consumers about deregulation of the electric industry. CC and D Communications in Boston has been chosen to create the campaign, which will include TV and radio spots, print ads, a Web site and a hotline, according to state official Kim Hinden.
Kirshenbaum Wins Liberty Mutual
BOSTON–Liberty Mutual here has awarded its $27 million account to Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners in New York after a review. Kirshenbaum was chosen over finalist N.W. Ayer & Partners, also in New York. Mullen in Wenham, Mass., was a semifinalist.
Hill, Holliday Direct Pitches Staples
BOSTON–Hill, Holliday Direct here has surfaced as a third contender for a direct marketing assignment from Staples in Westborough, Mass., sources said. Arnold Direct and Ingalls One to One Marketing, both in Boston, are also in the hunt, sources said. Billings were not disclosed but are believed to be in excess of $5 million.
Former Leonard/Monahan Clients Make Moves
BOSTON–Holland Mark Martin Edmund here has added consulting projects for Garelick Farms, Franklin, Mass., according to agency representative Gayle Nyre. The client’s former agency, Leonard/Monahan in Providence, R.I., closed in March. John Kellogg, Garelick’s vice president of marketing, said the client has contacted three agencies about handling its creative assignment but has not made a commitment. Separately, Markem Corp. has moved its account from LBC Design, Providence, to Donovan Group, Northborough, Mass., said LBC official Kenn Boostrom. LBC had fashioned design work for the Keene, N.H., industrial printing systems company after its former agency, Leonard/Monahan, closed. Leonard/Monahan chairman Bruce Leonard consults to LBC.

BOSTON–Arnold Communications here has donated its services to help reposition Nova, the 25-year-old Public Broadcasting Service science series produced by WGBH-TV in Boston . . . Lane Advertising has landed the account of Braintree, Mass.-based Honeydew Donuts. Efforts will include television, radio and outdoor executions, said Lane representative Penny Schuler. The Marblehead, Mass., agency will also handle media buying.
