Executive CD Macdonald Exits WestWayne
ATLANTA–Officials with WestWayne here said last week that vice chairman and executive creative director Martin Macdonald had left the agency. “In the past year it became apparent our philosophies on creative direction for the agency were diverging, and it was felt this was the best change to make,” said president Ben West. Macdonald, who could not be reached for comment, joined the shop in 1994 from Asher/Gould in Los Angeles. A search for his replacement is under way.
Atlanta Agencies Shine at Local Awards
ATLANTA–The Atlanta Ad Club’s annual Addys contest saw a handful of local shops share the spotlight. BBDO South won best of show/campaign, best of show/broadcast and three gold awards; Cole Henderson Drake, best of show/print and three golds; Fletcher Martin Associates, four golds; and Fitzgerald & Co., three golds. Portfolio Center earned best of show/student and four golds, while The Creative Circus received six golds.
Del Rivero, Turkel Dominate Miami Addys
ATLANTA–At the Miami Ad Fed’s Addy competition, Turkel Schwartz & Partners captured the English best of show designation and seven gold Addys, while del Rivero Messianu won in the non-English best of show category and earned eight golds. Student best of show went to Mark Bracken and Scott Larson of the Miami Ad School. Tinsley Advertising snared the People’s Choice award and four golds.
Paradigm Rules Tampa Bay Competition
ATLANTA–The Tampa Bay (Fla.) Ad Fed gave Paradigm Communications its best of show designation and 13 gold Addys. Fahlgren earned seven golds. Agencies that won Best of the Bay awards: Yesawich, Pepperdine & Brown for out-of-home; Peak Barr Petralia Biety for sales promotion; Paradigm for collateral and direct marketing; Criscenzo Creative for interactive media and Fahlgren for television.
Burris Tops Piedmont Triad Ad Contest
ATLANTA–The Piedmont Triad Ad Fed in North Carolina awarded best of show and best of print to The Burris Agency in High Point, which also won 18 Addys, and best of broadcast to Trone Advertising in Greensboro, which picked up 11 Addys.

Grizzard in Atlanta was named strategic direct marketing partner of Liberty Specialized Marketing, a direct response unit of Liberty Life Insurance Co., following a review of 10 shops nationwide, per the agency. Billings were undisclosed. . . American Golf Centers in St. Petersburg, Fla., assigned its account to LevLane Advertising, Tampa, Fla. The budget was not revealed.
