A No Nonsense: It’s Martin vs. McKinney
ATLANTA–No Nonsense panty hose is holding a review for its long dormant account, sources said. A $9 million fourth-quarter push is planned, with a subsequent annual budget of $15 million. The Martin Agency, Richmond, Va., and McKinney & Silver, Raleigh, N.C., remain in the review for the Greensboro, N.C.-based account, sources said. A decision is expected by March.
A Subway Narrows Creative Review to 5
NEW YORK–Following the naming of MediaCom here as winner of its $60 million media planning and buying review, Subway has narrowed its creative search to five shops, including The Martin Agency, sources said. Pitching the Milford, Conn.-based restaurant chain in addition to the Richmond, Va., shop are Mullen, Wenham, Mass.; and McCann-Erickson, DeVito/Verdi and Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG, all New York. Final presentations are set for March 22-23. AAR/Bob Wolf Partners, New York, conducted both reviews.
A Crispin Porter, WestWayne in Land Rover Chase
NEW YORK–Four agencies remain in the $35 million Land Rover review, including two Southeast shops, following the withdrawal of Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners here. Crispin Porter & Bogusky, Miami; WestWayne, Atlanta and Tampa, Fla.; GSD&M, Austin, Texas; and Hampel/Stefanides, New York, remain in the hunt for the Lanham, Md.-based client.
A Network Solutions Selects Branding Partner
ATLANTA–The Martin Agency has been chosen as branding agency for Network Solutions, a registrar of Internet domain names. Billings for the Herndon, Va.-based account were undisclosed. Martin is based in Richmond, Va.
A Long John Silver’s Sees Contender Withdraw
ATLANTA–Citing client conflicts, Crispin Porter & Bogusky has withdrawn from the Long John Silver’s creative review. The Miami shop was one of seven agencies pursuing the creative portion of the $35 million Lexington, Ky.-based account.
A Friendly Leaves Richmond Media Agency
BOSTON–Friendly Ice Cream has moved its media account and put its creative agency on notice. The Wilbraham, Mass., client shifted media duties from
WFofR, Richmond, Va., to Advantage Media, Lakewood, Colo. It also hired San Francisco’s Terry Heffernan Films to produce a March campaign and told creative agency Berry-Brown Advertising in Dallas that its relationship ends in May. The search for a full-service creative agency is “on hold” until at least the summer, a Friendly representative said. Annual ad spending is in the
$15-20 million range.
A IXL Acquires Capital to Launch FootageNow
