Long Haymes Carr Breaks Hanes Campaign
ATLANTA–Hanes introduces a new tagline, “Hanes be you,” to replace 1991’s “Wait ’til we get our Hanes on you” this week in a new television and outdoor campaign from Long Haymes Carr. The national advertising effort is the first under chief creative officer Mylene Pollock since she came aboard in March. Some ads will feature Michael Jordan in an as yet undisclosed role. The agency and client are both headquartered in Winston-Salem, N.C.
One Hilton Leads to Another for Zehnder
NEW ORLEANS–Zehnder Communications here has been named agency for the Hilton Lakes Executive Conference Center near the Dallas-Fort Worth airport. The account is the second Hilton property that the 3-year-old agency has signed in the past year. Zehnder won the Hilton New Orleans account last fall. Its work on that $500,000 account led to the Dallas referral, agency principal Jeff Zehnder said. Budget figures were not available for the new account, but industry observers estimated it could approach $750,000. Zehnder will be responsible for creative development, media buys, public relations and collateral material for the Texas facility.
McRae Grows With Home and Garden Shows
ATLANTA–McRae Communications here has won marketing and advertising duties for Semco Productions’ Fall and Spring Atlanta Home Shows as well as its Garden and Patio Show. Client marketing coordinator Lisa Davis said Semco’s desire to try new advertising venues on the Internet brought about the appointment, which came without a review. The $500,000 account had previously been handled in-house.
Greenville Creative Boss Moves Across Town
ATLANTA–In Greenville, S.C., Erwin-Penland creative director Russ Corvey has left the agency to join crosstown rival Leslie Advertising as group creative director. He will share the post with Jim Farmer, according to Leslie president Carlos Jiminez. Corvey comes to Leslie with an extensive travel and tourism background. Erwin-Penland president Joe Erwin said he will temporarily assume the creative director’s position at his agency.
FKQ Creative Director Relocates to Boston
ATLANTA–Creative director Bob Shiffrar has left FKQ Advertising in Clearwater, Fla., to join Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos in Boston. Shiffrar will serve as vice president and associate creative director.

Doner Direct president Tony Everett is moving his base of operations to Doner’s Southfield, Mich., worldwide headquarters by year’s end [Adweek, July 26]. Upper management will be deployed in both Detroit and Doner Direct’s current headquarters in Baltimore on an as-needed basis.
