Six Flags to Consolidate Creative, Media Duties
DALLAS–Six Flags Theme Parks is looking to consolidate all creative and media buying duties on its $40-45 million account at one agency, according to sources. The Parsippany, N.J.-based company has already contacted several shops, including Six Flags lead agency McCann-Erickson USA, about the account, sources said. New vice president of marketing Steve Savino is leading the review. McCann currently handles all media buying through several of its offices, including Houston, Dallas, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Atlanta. Creative is handled primarily in-house. McCann officials declined comment, and Six Flags representatives could not be reached.
New Business at Montalbano Totals $3 Mil.-Plus
DALLAS–The Montalbano Group, Metairie, La., has won more than $3 million in new business, including the $2.5 million account of Mark Escude Automotive Group of Jackson, Miss. Also coming aboard were three Slidell, La., dealerships–Adrian Vega Ford, Adrian Vega Lincoln-Mercury and Adrian Vega Nissan–and Stuart Electric, New Orleans.
Strong Tops B.A., Others in Chicago Chevy Pitch
DETROIT–General Motors has completed its Chevrolet division regional reviews for dealer advertising business, selecting Strong Automotive Merchandising in Birmingham, Ala., to handle the territory surrounding Chicago. Strong prevailed over six other agencies, including B.A. Advertising, Dallas, for the advertising business of the Great Lakes Chevy dealers Area Marketing Group (AMG), an account worth approximately $8 million.
Keating Magee Wins Clinical Research Center
NEW ORLEANS–Keating Magee of New Orleans has been named agency of record for the Clinical Research Center of New Orleans. The account, which will bill in the low six-figure range, was previously handled in-house. KM will handle advertising in local consumer publications and national trade magazines, as well as public relations for the client.
Stuart Bacon Earns DSS Marketing Data Job
DALLAS–Stuart Bacon, Fort Worth, Texas, was hired to handle communications projects for Arlington, Texas-based marketing information firm DSS Research. The agency will create a corporate identity package and sales support materials for the client. Billings were undisclosed.
Bazzirk Heads Fujitsu Subsidiary’s U.S. Entry
DALLAS–Austin, Texas, agency Bazzirk is spearheading the introduction of technology training company KnowledgePool into the U.S., beginning in Dallas. KnowledgePool is a subsidiary of Fujitsu. Bazzirk’s campaign elements include advertising, direct mail, Web site development and brochures. Spending figures were unavailable.
