Welcome to Fragmentation Nation. As this year’s Hot List Readers' Choice Poll affirms, technological opportunity has conjoined with the wandering, twerking consumer, his iPad and six-second videos in tow, to burn down those media silos for good. The hottest shows are no longer found exclusively on the tube, while purveyors of the most promising innovation in digital revenue—native advertising—include print brands enjoyed by your grandpa. Yet through all this upending, some things appear reliably eternal—vampires, zombies, reality TV, doctors in daytime, smartasses in late night, and Michael J. Fox.
Click below to vote for your favorite shows, digital properties, magazines and more. As of Oct. 28, we've narrowed down the choices to the four contenders in each category to have received the most votes thus far. The Hot List Readers' Choice Poll closes Nov. 25.
Winners of this year's Hot List (determined by Adweek's editors) as well as Readers' Choice will be unveiled at the Hot List Gala in New York on Dec. 2. Also being honored at the event will be Magazine Publisher of the Year and Editor of the Year, TV Executive of the Year and Creative of the Year, and Digital Executive of the Year and Editor of the Year.
We’re all fired up—how about you?
