Turner Broadcasting has awarded the bulk of its media buying business to Horizon Media after a review, confirmed Dennis Camlek, svp of Turner.

The broadcaster's entertainment and news networks, including Cartoon Network, CNN, HLN, TBS, TNT, Turner Sports and Turner Classic Movies, spend an estimated $150 million in media annually. Media planning will continue to be handled in-house.

Horizon will buy media for all networks except truTV, which Media Storm will continue to handle.

In making the selection, Camlek cited Horizon's experience with cable networks A&E and The History Channel, pricing and leadership teams.
