Hooray For Akron

Akron went Hollywood last week for Hitchcock Fleming & Associates’ 60th anniversary bash. To celebrate, the agency transformed itself into a Planet Hollywood-inspired Planet HF&A for a night.
Agency staffers put together displays with nostalgic glimpses of the past six decades and the conference room was decorated in a futuristic theme.
Guests were serenaded by Liza Minnelli and Barbra Streisand impersonators while sipping martinis under silk palm trees and spotlights. A steel-drum band played on a tented patio.
Before entering the glitzy gala, guests had to run the red carpet gauntlet enduring “paparazzi” and a Joan Rivers look-alike’s catty comments.
Agency president Jack DeLeo described the clients as the stars but said no one was immune from Rivers’ opinions.
