Hilton Hotels Names 5 Semifinalists in $50 Mil. Review

Hilton Hotels Corp. and Hilton International Co. have named five semifinalists in the search for a global agency to handle an estimated $50 million in advertising.
The semifinalists are: Dailey & Associates in Los Angeles, which handles the Beverly Hills, Calif.-based Hilton Hotel Corp.’s U.S. account and is pitching with sister Interpublic shops Western International Media in Los Angeles and Lowe Howard-Spink in London; as well as Bates Worldwide, Bozell Worldwide, Young & Rubicam Inc. and J. Walter Thompson Co.
The winning agency’s West Coast office will lead the U.S. portion of the account, while the agency’s London office will lead globally, said Mike Agate of Select Resources International in Los Angeles, the consultant conducting the review. A decision is expected by January 1998. –Kathy Tyrer
