Hill, Holliday Opens Bay Area Buying Office

NEW YORK Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos has opened a broadcast buying office in San Francisco and named advertising veteran Andrea Bouchante the associate media director in charge of the new operation.

“This is huge for Hill, Holliday” said Kristi Argylian, executive vice president and media director at Hill, Holliday. “In order for the agency to enter a lot of local and regional pitches on the West Coast, it is necessary to have a buying group in the California region. The fact that Hill, Holliday now has a West Coast presence opens the door to previously untapped new business opportunities.”

During her 20-year career at agencies such as Young & Rubicam, Foote, Cone & Belding and SFM Media, Bouchante has worked on accounts including the Bank of America, Levi Strauss and Discovery Networks.

Laura Bracken, who joined Hill, Holliday last year, is senior vice president and director of media operations at the agency’s San Francisco office.

The launch of the media branch follows Hill, Holliday’s win of the buying duties for the Northern California-based 24 Hour Fitness. In addition to the health club chain, Bouchante will oversee the State Farm Insurance and Tilia Foodsaver accounts.
