Hill Is BBDO’s Choice for AOL

NEW YORK BBDO is in negotiations to hire Nancy Hill, who runs the $60-80 million Verizon Wireless account at Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos, sources said.

A decision is expected “within the next 72 hours,” one source said. “She’s a big deal.”

Hill is currently evp, managing director at the New York shop and would become the third managing director at BBDO in New York if she takes the position, a source said. Tom Sebok, worldwide account director on Frito-Lay and Campbell’s, and Rob McKinley, worldwide account director on Masterfoods, are the other two managing directors.

BBDO executives want Hill to run their recently won AOL Broadband account. The agency is still pitching against Wieden + Kennedy in Portland, Ore., for AOL’s corporate assignment. Billings for the combined pieces of the AOL business are estimated at $150 million.

Hill joined Hill, Holliday in New York to run its troubled Verizon Wireless account in July.

She could not be reached for comment at press time. A BBDO representative declined comment.
