Henkel Bows Home Improvement Work

CHICAGO Henkel Consumer Adhesives is breaking new commercials this week that promote the company’s Duck and Loctite brands.

Four TV spots from DDB Chicago break on HGTV and take a humorous tone to show how the products can help consumers with home improvement initiatives.

In one spot, a new homeowner hangs panels with loud hammering. His next-door neighbor comes over and offers Loctite construction adhesive to quietly get the project done. He then sticks the hammer to the ceiling. “Project solved” is the tagline.

Another spot features Duck brand’s non-adhesive shelf liners and shows a couple thinking about lining their new kitchen cabinet. Unbeknownst to them, the previous owners had hens in the cupboard. The spot ends with the tagline “Get the Duck to do it,” because you never know what your shelves have been doing.

It has been several years since the Avon, Ohio, company advertised. Early last year the company changed its name from Manco to Henkel to reflect the global resources that support the company’s growing consumer brand business.
