Rick Henderson, a founding partner of Cole Henderson Drake in Atlanta, revealed last week he was formally leaving the agency.
Four years ago Henderson had relinquished his creative director’s post to Denzil Strickland while continuing to work for the agency on a virtual basis from his Florida residence.
Henderson will now turn his full attention to restoring an 1840’s home in Apalachicola, Fla., and various projects in the fields of fine art and design.
‘I had so many other goals besides owning a successful agency, that I just had to make time to accomplish them,’ Henderson said. ‘Now I’ll be able to focus on what’s next.’
Which is not to say that he is leaving his ad roots behind.
‘I’m sure I’ll be hearing from some colleagues in the business, which is fine since I’m still a big fan of capitalism,’ Henderson said.
