Health Officials Stand by ‘Truth’

A coalition of former federal health officials plans to ask judges in lawsuits against tobacco companies to require the companies, if found guilty, to make payments into a public education fund supporting a national anti-smoking campaign. The group also wants Americans to fill out an online petition asking tobacco companies to continue providing the money, which funds the American Legacy Foundation’s “Truth” campaign, handled by Havas’ Arnold in Boston and MDC’s Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Miami. (Omnicom’s GSD&M in Austin, Texas, also works for Legacy.)
