Hardee’s is going Hollywood to take on rival McDonald’s this Christmas.
The No. 3 burger chain in November will team with Walt Disney Pictures’ Jim Henson Video unit for an in-store holiday promotion touting the video release of The Muppet Christmas Carol. Ogilvy & Mather/New York will handle the TV campaign supporting the promotion.
While Hardee’s targets the kids, McDonald’s will continue its promotional trend in appealing to teens and young adults with a tie-in with Paramount Pictures. It’ll offer The Addams Family, Charlotte’s Web, Ghost or Wayne’s World for $5.99.
