DALLAS Pennzoil Motor Oil is putting the creative portion of its estimated $20 million advertising account into review, sources said.

Sources said incumbent GSD&M of Austin, Texas, will defend.

The review was prompted in part by Shell Oil Products, which acquired the Pennzoil-Quaker State Co. on Oct. 1, 2002, sources said.

Roth Associates of New York is handling the review for the Houston-based client, sources said.

Pennzoil spent $18 million on media in 2001 and $21 million from January through October 2002, according to CMR.
