GroundRush Radio Talks Up Bad Boy Weekend

ATLANTA GroundRush Media’s radio work for Bad Boy Entertainment launches today in U.S. markets including Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Houston and Los Angeles, sources said.

The 60-second spot will air on Radio One stations to promote the New York-based entertainment company’s upcoming Bad Boy Weekend, beginning Oct. 2-5 in Atlanta. Promotional parties and performances will take place at venues such as Justin’s, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs’ restaurant, and Vision Nightclub & Lounge, both in Atlanta, sources said. Campaign spending was undisclosed.

Since GroundRush opened its doors in January, it has produced work for Mary Kay Cosmetics, Timberland and Tanqueray, among other clients. The Atlanta shop also has produced a 60-second teaser/trailer to promote Jive Records/Violator Records’ compilation album release titled “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.” The spot aired during the recent Rock the Mic tour, and will air at the 2003 Mix Show Power Summit this weekend in Puerto Rico, sources said.

GroundRush co-founder and owner Mike Johnson, a former radio personality, is the voiceover in the Bad Boy promotional ads, as well as those produced for the agency’s other clients.

“Our diverse staff of creatives come up with the concepts for projects, and we are able to complete production and execution of our work in-house,” said Johnson. “Our goal is to be a self-sufficient agency that can fulfill all of our clients advertising and marketing needs.”
