ATLANTA–Grey Worldwide has won the review for BellSouth’s $120 million advertising account.

The New York shop defeated New York incumbent Merkley Newman Harty & Partners, The Richards Group in Dallas and Boston’s Arnold.

“It was a tough field, and a tough job to decide,” said Alan Blount, who is the Atlanta telecom’s asst vice president for advertising.”Grey had more in terms of what we were looking for.”

Grey, which had no Atlanta advertising presence, pitched the business in conjunction with Joel Babbit and Bob Cohn’s 360 shop (Adweek November 26) to take the lead in the review.
