NEW YORK Grey North America chief executive Steve Blamer has tapped Tim Mellors to lead creative operations in a newly created position, the agency has confirmed.

Mellors, 57, will hold the title of president, chief creative officer of Grey North America and will report to Grey Global Group chairman and CEO Ed Meyer.

Grey had been trying to find a creative leader for North America for the past four years.

Mellors worked with Blamer at Grey in London as that office’s top creative executive for several years until 2000, when the latter returned to New York as president of Grey.
