Grand Prix Past Meets the Present

NEW YORK As part of its 50th anniversary celebration, the International Advertising Festival will honor multiple Grand Prix winners at a special ceremony in Cannes, France, on June 19.

Directors, agencies, production companies and advertisers that have won at least two Grand Prix awards during the festival’s history will be honored. They will be given a special Cannes Lions award.

Past presidents of the festival will also be honored.

Agencies being feted include Campbell-Ewald, DDB, J. Walter Thompson, Ogilvy & Mather and Young & Rubicam, all in the U.S., Hakuhodo in Japan and Stig Arbman in Sweden.

Directors being honored include Joe Pytka, Ridley Scott, Hugh Hudson, John Perkis and Lee Lacy, along with production companies RSA, Pytka, N. Lee Lacey and Hamster. Pepsi-Cola Co., Nestle, Nike, General Motors, Volkswagen and Procter & Gamble are the advertisers being honored.

A reel of past Grand Prix winners will also be shown.
