The league doesn’t want fans to have to wait one extra day to see their teams, as it struggles to recover after the lockout. The NHL also has changed its logo: The old shield logo was black with the orange letters “NHL” slanting toward the lower right. The new one has silver instead of orange, and the letters slant toward the upper right—which is meant to “project a vibrant, optimistic image,” according to the league.
