Glueck Fills Marketing Post at Travelocity

DALLAS Travelocity has promoted Jeff Glueck to chief marketing officer, the client said.

Glueck had previously served as vice president of packaging and customer experience at the Southlake, Texas-based online travel concern.

The post became vacant in May with the departure of Scott Danielson, who served as senior vice president of marketing for only a month. Glueck will lead all marketing activities, including advertising, public relations and search engine optimization.

A Travelocity spokesperson said Glueck was involved in the ad review for creative duties that concluded in October when the client tapped McKinney + Silver of Raleigh, N.C., for the account. The Richards Group in Dallas previously worked on those duties and continues to handle interactive chores through its Click Here unit. Omnicom’s OMD in New York is responsible for media planning and buying.

Havas’ McKinney launched an $80 million campaign featuring a “roaming gnome” in January that introduced the tag, “Book with Travelocity. Don’t forget your hat.”
