Giant Step Advances Weinswig

Nearly six months after founders Eric and Adam Heneghan agreed to step down as CEO and president, respectively, of the Chicago i-shop Giant Step, parent company Bcom3 has found a president close to home.

Steve Weinswig, 36, was one of the first employees when he joined Giant Step in 1995 as an account director assigned to launch the Walt Disney World Web site. He went on to become vice president and account director at Bcom3’s Leo Burnett USA before returning to Giant Step in January 1999 as vice president of client service and business development.

“Steve is improving the company’s profitability and managing capabilities to meet client and market demands,” said Chris Kimball, Bcom3’s chief administrative officer.

Last month, Giant Step, whose clients include Maytag and Phillip Morris, laid off 52 its approximately 230 employees.
