CANNES, France—Gerry Graf and Laura Janness spend so much time together, it only made sense to have them interview each other this week at the Cannes Lions festival here.
Janness, chief strategy officer at New York agency Barton F. Graf, had just arrived in town after some flight delays in Paris. Graf, the agency's founder and chief creative officer, had come from the Palais, where he and Linus Karlsson had chatted on the main stage about the topic of collaboration—a seminar that was actually about how they collaborated on preparing for their talk about collaboration. (The talk also involved a bed. In fact, Gerry was still in his pajamas when he got to us.)
