George Goes to GSW

Gerbig, Snell/Weisheimer, Columbus, Ohio, has named J. John George executive vice president of business development. George will be responsible for generating sales leads and managing all of the agency’s pitches and new business presentations. Prior to GSW, George was executive vice president, director of the global business group at Torre-Lazur in New York. While at Torre-Lazur, he managed a group of companies that encompassed 53 offices in 31 countries. George also was executive vice president of international business at Grey Healthcare Group, where he was responsible for all of Grey’s healthcare operations outside of North America. At Grey, he established leading-edge digital creative and account capabilities designed for multinational markets and expanded Grey’s market conditioning services around the world. George also ran his own business, called Global Healthcare Associates, for five years. In addition, he spent 15 years in worldwide pharmaceutical research and strategic consulting at the Stanford Research Institute, where he conducted numerous business opportunity assessments and technology commercialization assignments for major pharmaceutical firms. In his more than 25 years in the business, he has worked with all of the top 10 pharmaceutical companies in areas such as general management, global business development, sales and marketing, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic planning.
