G2 Worldwide Creates 9/11 Tribute Ad

NEW YORK G2 Worldwide, a division of Grey Global Group, has created a one-off print ad to commemorate the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the World Trade Center, the agency said.

The ad shows a boy in a classroom drawing the two towers on a chalkboard. The headline, “Generations will remember,” is followed by copy that reads, “Honoring the past. Envisioning the future. Rebuilding together.”

G2, the brand-identity and design arm of Grey, created the ad on behalf of its client The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Beginning next week, the execution will run in New York-area publications such as The New York Times, El Diario/La Prensa, The [Bergen] Record, The [Newark] Star-Ledger, the Amsterdam News, the Staten Island Advance and The New Yorker.

“We were extremely honored to have partnered with The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to develop a forward-looking message that deals with the difficult but important task of remembering this tragic event,” said Jason Press, G2’s director of client services. “Although the ad is reflective of our shared sorrow, it also instills a sense of pride that together, we will rebuild.”

Client executives declined comment. The media spend was undisclosed.
