We refer, specifically, to the trauma inflicted on the Bojangles chicken, that cuddly mass of love and feathers, at a recent Nascar event in Charlotte, N.C. The party fowl was minding his own business—possibly making chicken sounds to the delight of those assembled—when someone suddenly yanked off his chicken head and made off with it.

A shaken Mike Bradley, Bojangles’ area director, described the scene to the Charlotte Observer: “He couldn’t believe it.
