Four Shops Strut For CDC

Finalists made presentations Thursday in the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s inaugural National Youth Media Campaign review.

TBWA\Chiat\Day in San Francisco, Saatchi & Saatchi, New York, DDB in Seattle, and Campbell Mithun in Minneapolis are in the running for the $125 million initiative aimed at developing healthy habits in ‘tweens,’ kids 9 to 13.

The agencies, linked with public relations shops, pitched executives at the CDC’s Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion in Atlanta.

TBWA\C\D partnered with Fleishman-Hillard; DDB with Porter-Novelli, Campbell Mithun with Weber Public Relations; and Saatchi drew upon promotions specialist Frankel & Co.

More than 200 agencies responded to requestes for proposals last winter. A decision is expected in July.
