Former Geer DuBois Principals Sued

NEW YORK – The assignee for the benefit of creditors of Geer DuBois is seeking a total of over $5 million in damages from the defunct agency’s principals: Peter Geer, Steve Bowen, Rodney Underwood and Martyn Straw. The suit is one of three that were filed by assignee and plaintiff Jerold R. Ruderman in New York State Supreme Court late last month. One names as defendants 41 former employees, asking for the return of a approximately $206,000 in severance and vacation pay. The suit against the principals asks for $4 million in punitive damages, $1.37 million in Client Funds which the suit alleges were not used to pay media, in favor of paying rent, salary and other expenses, and the principals’ severance pay. Geer and Straw could not be reached. Bowen and Underwood declined comment.
