Fogarty, Stevens Combine PR Forces

DALLAS Independent Fogarty Klein Monroe has merged its public relations division with Stevens Group Public Relations to form Stevens/FKM Public Relations.

The new wholly owned subsidiary of the Houston-based FKM is headed by senior vice president and general manager Melissa Stevens, who was previously principal of her former shop, also in Houston. Dan Keeney, who led FKM’s public relations unit as vice president and general manager, resigned, according to FKM principal Rich Klein.

Stevens brings three or four employees with her, Klein said, as well as clients including Carrabba’s Italian Grill, the Watermark Hotel & Spa and T.G.I. Friday’s international division. Billings of those clients are undisclosed.

FKM’s division, which had eight staffers, lists Very Fine Products, Wholesome Sweeteners and Subway among its clients.

“Melissa has a lot of national clients in areas that we don’t currently service, and because of her growth, she was looking for more support,” Klein said.

FKM vice president of public relations Bettie DeBruhl added: “We are for the most part a traditional practicing public relations firm, but we’ve had opportunities to do event marketing and promotions. [Stevens] brings all of that, which makes it so exciting. And she has a huge reputation in the market of travel and leisure and tourism.”
