Fitzgerald Claims Insurer’s Creative, Media

ATLANTA GMAC Insurance has named Fitzgerald + Co. its advertising agency, according to the shop.

The Atlanta agency said it would immediately begin creative development and media planning for a new campaign that would launch in select markets within the next few months. Fitzgerald was awarded the account following a review that included undisclosed contenders.

“Fitzgerald + Co. demonstrated a superb grasp of our industry and GMAC Insurance’s marketing opportunities as we plan for the future,” said Mike Jensen, vice president of consumer marketing for GMAC. “We look forward to their contributions to our success.”

GMAC Insurance is an Atlanta-based subsidiary of GMAC Financial Services. The company provides various insurance and reinsurance services to individuals and organizations.

Billings were not disclosed. GMAC spent $27 million on advertising in 2003, according to Nielsen Monitor-Plus.
