DALLAS–Three longtime commercial production figures in Dallas have become partners in a new film and video production company that will also look to develop work in the entertainment arena.
Producer Larry Brown joined with former West End Post principal Jay Rydman and sound mixer and producer Blake Windham to found Forward Communications in the Irving, Texas, offices of Brown’s existing multimedia marketing firm, Forward Cos.
‘We’ve been friends for 14 years,’ said Brown, ‘and competitors as well.’
Each of the principals is folding existing businesses into the Forward Communications startup.
Rydman recently headed Rydman Dallas/Santa Fe, a production company, while Windham had founded Wylde Greene, a regional film and video equipment rental organization. The Wylde Greene firm had earlier spun off from Rydman’s post-production company.
The West End Post operation Rydman founded in 1979 ended more than a year ago. Numerous clients of that film and video facility changed to another post-production house, Charlieuniformtango in Dallas, which is headed by former staff members of West End Post.
Rydman also previously sold his interactive division to Colorado-based Eagle River Communications.
Brown said the new film and video production company will have a wide service niche in the business and entertainment fields. Kiosks, Internet and new media marketing and programming are all on Forward Communications’ agenda, according to Brown.
