The Colby Agency/L.A. raises an interesting but delicate point in its outdoor work for Project Angel Food, the non-profit group that delivers meals to homebound persons with AIDS. The boards feature the well-known red ribbon worn to symbolize AIDS support with the copy, ‘Unfortunately, red ribbons have very little nutritional value. Help Project Angel Food Deliver Meals. 800-59-ANGEL.’ The message hit home for some and a sour note with others. A few people felt the ad does a disservice to the efforts behind the AIDS ribbon. But at least 50 calls came from people wanting to volunteer.
