Family Water Park Selects Blank Slate

DALLAS Blank Slate Advertising has been awarded the advertising account of the North Richland Hills Family Water Park, the shop said.

The Dallas agency won the municipally owned water park in a review against three finalists, according to shop president Kent Johnson. Contenders included incumbent Todd Company of Arlington, Texas; The LaChapelle Agency in Bedford, Texas; and St. Louis-based Kochan & Company Advertising and Marketing.

Blank Slate is charged with developing a new strategy that will increase attendance and tap into the water park’s target audience more broadly, Johnson said. “The target is families, which seems so basic on the surface,” he said. “But the challenge for us is to make this the preferred family destination for the summer.”

Blank Slate’s first campaign will include TV, radio, print and direct mail components. It is scheduled to launch in early May, Johnson said.

Located in North Richland Hills, Texas, the attraction features five body and two tube slides, a wave pool and Frogstein’s Splashatory, a five-level water playground.

Billings are undisclosed.
