Euro RSCG Taps Jones as N.Y. CEO

NEW YORK Euro RSCG Worldwide has tapped David Jones as chief executive officer of its New York office, a new position, the agency network confirmed.

The move comes four months after the departure of Euro RSCG’s New York president, John Berg, who left in May to start his own marketing communications company.

Euro RSCG in New York claims more than $1 billion in billings.

Jones, 37, has been with Havas-owned Euro RSCG for six years. Most recently, he was evp, managing director of global business, based in London, overseeing global brand management across the Euro RSCG network. Jones, a member of the agency’s worldwide executive committee, will report to Euro RSCG CEO and chief creative officer Ron Berger.

Jones’ arrival comes at a time when the agency is undergoing a revitalization process. Jones, who played a role in securing the Reckitt Benckiser business in 2002, originally joined Euro RSCG Australia in 1998 as managing director and was promoted to CEO one year later at 32.

“One of my key priorities has been to recruit an outstanding leader for the New York office, and I’m delighted he comes from within our network,” said Berger in a statement. “David has a deep grasp of the complex challenges today’s marketers face and the talent to deliver the resources they need to succeed in every communications channel. He will be a terrific partner to me and an outstanding addition to our management team.”
