Euro RSCG Elevates 2

Euro RSCG Worldwide has promoted Margaret Wagner and Lisa Fabiano to two newly created positions to oversee integration, strategy and planning among the global network’s 221 agencies.

Wagner, director of marketing services, this week becomes director of integrated cli ent services. Fab iano, currently chief of staff, takes on the additional role of se nior vice president this week. They are assigned to Euro RSCG’s New York headquarters, where they report to Bob Schmetterer, chairman and CEO.

In her new post, Wagner, 36, will try to expand the network’s existing accounts across multiple disciplines, such as marketing services, interactive and healthcare. “It’s not being limited to any particular discipline,” she said. She plans to identify the best resources within Euro RSCG to help clients achieve their objectives.

“Our existing clients are really our best new-business prospects,” she noted.

During her two years as director of marketing services, Wagner contributed to the acquisition of more than 30 marketing agencies, including Devon Direct, Meridian Consulting Group and Bounty. Before that, she worked at the direct marketing agency formerly known as BrannBlau, where she led the IBM personal-services group account.

As svp, Fabiano, 44, is charged with developing a worldwide business plan and strategy for the network. She will meet with its units to ensure their goals are aligned with those of Euro RSCG. In her continuing role as chief of staff, she will also grow the network’s leadership team.

Prior to advancing to the network level in 1997, Fabiano spent nine years at Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer/Euro RSCG, where she was an account director on MCI, Nasdaq and New Balance, among others, and later became director of human resources.

“[Wagner and Fabiano] are people who know the network, they know the companies within the network, they know the talent, and they can make things happen very quickly,” said Schmetterer.

Last week, Euro RSCG hired trend consultants Ira Matathia and Marian Salzman to foment fresh strat egies for the network (see On the Move, page 60), and named Iain Ferguson, CEO for Europe at Euro RSCG Marketing Services, CEO for the global marketing services group.
