Nothing like a little cross-network promotion. Adman turned TV talk-show host Donny Deutsch appeared last week on NBC’s I Want to Be a Hilton, in which he participated in a mock press-conference challenge with the aspiring socialite contenders. Celebrity mom Kathy Hilton introduced Deutsch as “a legend in the world of advertising” and then plugged his “hot cable TV show,” The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch, which runs on sibling network CNBC. … Phil Dusenberry’s memoir hits shelves in September, and if the title is any indication, it’s bound to be a lively read. The singer included old favorites like “Roam” and some newer songs, playing to a crowd of about 200 who sipped very pink, Sugartown-inspired cocktails. … In a recent issue of Rolling Stone, Dave Grohl talks up Brennivin, a clear schnapps from Iceland, and even imagines the ad he would make for it: “A handheld video of some metal dude—high-tops, tight black jeans, leather jacket and long hair—walking down a city street, picking up a trash can and throwing it through a window. Then it would say, “Brennivin! Release the inner Viking!”
