LOS ANGELES-After a review of Southern California agencies, Equity Toys has awarded its estimated $3 million account to Asher/Gould Advertising here.
The Beverly Hills, Calif., toy manufacturer had contacted several agencies, including Saatchi & Saatchi Pacific in Torrance; Reynolds & Associates in Manhattan Beach; Mendelsohn/Zien in Los Angeles; and Big Imagination Group in Marina del Rey. The finalists in the review were undisclosed, according to Asher/Gould president and chief operating officer Joel Hochberg.
“We’re delighted to have been selected as Equity’s marketing partner,” said Hochberg. “They are dedicated to quality, innovative products that excite both retailers and consumers. And they believe in the power of advertising.”
Equity designs, produces, distributes and markets toys based on children’s television shows and films, including Wishbone and The Land Before Time. The company is slated to create a toy line in 1998 for Babe In Metropolis, the sequel to Babe.
“Asher/Gould demonstrated great expertise, passion and commitment to our business,” said Equity vice president of marketing Keith Cohn. “We look forward to partnering with them on some exciting product lines.”
