EMA Reels In N.C. Shop

NEW YORK Eric Mower and Associates last week acquired PriceMcNabb, a move that is part of the agency’s bid to extend its presence along the East Coast, said CEO Eric Mower.

PriceMcNabb, a Charlotte, N.C.-based agency with about 45 employees and an estimated $43 million in billings, becomes EMA’s sixth office. The agency has four offices in New York state (Albany, Buffalo, Rochester and Syracuse), as well as an outpost in Atlanta.

“We’re looking to create a network up and down the East Coast,” said Mower. “We’ve been looking in other markets as far west as Chicago.” Mower added that he would like to acquire two more agencies in the next 18 months.

PriceMcNabb operates in all three of the disciplines EMA seeks in an acquisition target: brand promotion, b-to-b advertising and public relations, Mower said. Among PriceMcNabb’s clients are Starbucks, Georgia Pacific and Bojangles’ Restaurants, he added.

Mower said he first contacted agency principal Tom Eppes a year ago and signed the deal Thursday. Terms were not disclosed.

Eppes, formerly president and CEO, will take the title of senior partner and member of the board of directors at EMA.
