EDS Mulls 3 for Creative

LOS ANGELES Business and technology solutions company EDS has cut to three finalists in the review of creative chores on its estimated $10-15 million ad account, according to the client’s search firm, ABA Consulting.

The finalists are: Havas’ McKinney in Durham, N.C., Interpublic Group’s TM and independent The Richards Group, both in Dallas.

The incumbent agency, Publicis Groupe-backed Bartle Bogle Hegarty in New York, is not defending.

Media duties, currently handled by Publicis Groupe’s Mediavest, are not in play.

EDS’s legacy includes the development of the ATM and modern airline software. Former presidential candidate and billionaire Ross Perot founded the company, but is no longer part of the organization.

Final presentations are expected in mid-July, with a decision expected shortly thereafter.

Plano, Texas-based Electronic Data Systems spent $6 million in measured media in 2006, per TNS Media Intelligence, down 33 percent from the previous year.
