CHICAGO Ogilvy & Mather has hired Michelle Edelman as managing partner, director of account planning, replacing Sarah Patterson who served in the same role for three years.

Edelman, 39, reports to the Chicago agency’s co-managing directors, Linda Garrison and Joe Sciarrotta, who also is executive creative director.

Prior to joining Ogilvy, Edelman was chief planning officer at Leo Burnett’s boutique agency LB Works, where she oversaw planning and strategy on all of the shop’s accounts as well as new business pitches.
