Edelman Adds Diversity Marketing Exec

ATLANTA Goldie Taylor has joined the Atlanta office of Edelman as vice president of diversity marketing and consumer brands, the agency said.

It is a new position at the independent public relations firm, and diversity marketing is a new department for the Atlanta office. Previously, diversity marketing issues were handled at the agency’s New York office.

Taylor left Sara Lee Foods of Cincinnati, a division of Chicago-based Sara Lee Corp., to join Edelman. Taylor was director of global communications and public affairs for the company and a member of the company’s executive committee. She handled reputation management, employee communications, media relations, community affairs and crisis litigation. She also was the executive sponsor of the company’s Council on Diversity and Inclusion.

A former journalist, she has written for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Atlanta Tribune, Atlanta Voice and Creative Loafing, Atlanta’s alternative weekly newspaper. She also has appeared on CNN, ABC’s Good Morning America and National Public Radio.

“We have been looking for someone with Goldie’s caliber of experience for quite some time,” said Claudia Patton, general manager of Edelman’s Atlanta office.
