Eastpak Hires N.Y. Consultant To Conduct Search

Eastpak is seeking a shop to handle creative chores for domestic and overseas advertising. The review is being handled by Tess Robinson of Marketing Project Solutions in New York.
The winner will handle the complete line of Eastpak products, including its signature backpacks, sources said. The client wants an agency with experience reaching the young adult market in highly creative ways, sources said.
The Lowell, Mass.-based company last month parted ways with Clarke Goward in Boston. At that time, agency officials said shrinking profit margins contributed to the falling out. Eastpak spent $1.7 million on ads in 1996 and only $489,000 from January to October 1997, according to Competitive Media Reporting.
