DuPont Sends Out RFPs for $70 Mil. Account

CHICAGO DuPont will send proposal requests to nine agencies this week regarding the review of its $70 million advertising account. Contending for the business are roster shops BBDO and McCann-Erickson, New York, and Doner, Southfield, Mich., as well as New York shops Foote, Cone & Belding; Ogilvy & Mather; Saatchi & Saatchi, and Young & Rubicam; DDB Chicago and Fallon, Minneapolis.

A due date for the RFPs has not been determined, according to a company representative. The review is expected to conclude by the end of April, she said.

The Wilmington, Del., company sent out information requests last month, asking agencies – among other things – to detail their processes for criminal background checks and disaster-recovery programs. The review, which the company described as “part of its regular supplier review process,” is believed to be financially motivated. Some 22 agencies responded to the RFI, according to the representative.
