Dru to Succeed Greenlees as CEO of TBWA

NEW YORK–Michael Greenlees, president-CEO of TBWA Worldwide since May 1998, is vacating that post to assume a new role at parent Omnicom Group, Omnicom said Thursday.

Succeeding him as CEO is Jean-Marie Dru, president and CEO of TBWA’s international operations. Greenlees’ departure and Dru’s ascension were expected (Adweek Online, March 13).

In his new role, Greenlees will seek to “advance [Omnicom’s] e-business strategy,” Omnicom said in a statement, which did not mention a title. He starts April 1.

The Paris-based Dru will move to New York. Omnicom said he would work closely with Lee Clow, chairman and worldwide creative director of TBWA.

“In Jean-Marie and Lee, TBWA has two of the most talented and visionary leaders in the industry,” said Omnicom CEO John Wren. “Under their leadership, TBWA is perfectly positioned to continue to build upon the outstanding progress that has been made in the last three years.”
