DoubleClick Vet Joins PointRoll as COO

NEW YORK PointRoll has hired Christopher Saridakis, one of the founders of DoubleClick’s technology unit, as chief operating officer, a newly created position.

The post was formed in response to growth at the 24-person outfit. The Internet-ad-technology company recently inked deals with MSN, Yahoo! and America Online, under which the Web properties agreed to offer PointRoll’s expandable banner to advertisers [IQ Daily Briefing, July 7].

As COO, Saridakis, 35, said he would ensure that an infrastructure is in place to handle PointRoll’s increasing domestic and international business. He also will help drive revenue from a sales standpoint and steer product and overall company strategy.

Saridakis will be based at the company’s Fort Washington, Pa., headquarters, reporting to CEO Jules Gardner.

From 1997-2002, Saridakis was DoubleClick’s svp of Global TechSolutions, the division responsible for running the New York-based company’s online ad-management system, DART. Before that, he spent four years as a senior director at Reuters, where he led business and new-product development in New York and London. Most recently, Saridakis consulted for Invoke Solutions, a portfolio company of Boston-based Bain Capital.
